Arrival

Well, we had a pleasantly boring drive to Folkestone yesterday, an uneventful crossing through the Eurotunnel this morning, and a similarly boring drive to Efteling today.

We arrived around lunchtime, and were able to access the park, although our room wasn’t available until around 4pm.

Efteling is a good size, we walked the length of it, having a general look around, and even did one ride, Symbolica, which is a trackless dark ride. If you approach it from the normal entrance, you have a choice of three storylines to follow, however the accessible car is exclusively on the Music storyline. Crowds depending, I may take a solo trip later in the week to try one of the others.

Food so far has been good, decent and decently priced. One thing Chris loved is at a couple of places they have walls of hot food vending machines! I had a cheese snack, which was basically a crispy pancake, but with far more filling that they normally have these days! Chris had a chicken snack, which was somewhere between a chicken nugget and a chicken sausage, covered in cornflake breadcrumbs.

Quick dinner in the bar of the hotel, and we were lucky enough to meet Pardoes, the resort mascot, as we left!

Lazy evening, since it’s been such a long day, and the park fun starts properly tomorrow!
