Something different for 2023

Our first trip to Walt Disney World in 2013 was to celebrate of 40th birthdays. Next year, for our 50ths, we were originally considering the original, Disneyland California. However given the ongoing state of, well, everything, we decided to stay slightly closer to home, and go to Disneyland Paris instead!

Biggest advantage is we can drive instead of flying, but also we’re looking at 2 or 3 smaller trips rather than one long one!

The plan is, drive down to Folkstone on the Sunday, stay over and get an early Eurotunnel the next morning. We should arrive at DLP around lunchtime, where we’ve booked into Hotel New York – the Art of Marvel. Yes, for the first time, we’ll be staying in the Disney bubble! The whole resort is a lot smaller than WDW, and the hotel is within easy walking distance of both parks. We totally booked it for the convenience, nothing to do with us being total geeks! We’ll spend the week there, leaving Friday afternoon, heading back to Calais, for an early Eurotunnel on Saturday and home.

If we like it, we’ll go back later in the year. If not, well at least we can say we’ve done it!
