Scorching Hot

First full day at Efteling. Breakfast at the hotel, and then early entry into the park. We got a few rides done, including Fata Morgana, Danse Macabre and Vogel Rok, before deciding to go for a drive around the local area – what can I say, after walking around in the sun all morning, an hour sitting in an air-conditioned car held some appeal!

We headed back to the park, had a late lunch and I rode Max and Moritz. We know I have to do that one solo, as they evacuate via ladders, and Chris can’t use it. However, when we went to ride the Flying Dutchman, it appears they may have updated some regulations, but not Chris’s access card, and he was told by the staff member on the gate that he was unable to ride it due to his above knee amputation. This was news to us, as he’s ridden it previously and it still shows on his access card as allowed.

Little bit of a sour note to end the day, but we’re here, and going to make the most of it anyway.
