First day, long day

Breakfast at the hotel this morning, followed by a little bit of a walk around the hotel grounds. We’re staying in the main building, but there are lots of chalets around the lake. We’re booked back in a hotel room next May (already, I know!) but I can see pluses and minuses to both.

As hotel guests, we get early access to the park – a bonus when the winter hours mean it doesn’t open until 11am.

Got a few rides under our belts, including Vogelrok, the Flying Dutchman and Symbolica, as well as a light lunch, and a wander round Winter Efteling. I resisted the idea of ice skating, because let’s face it, you know it won’t end well!

We got a restaurant booking for the hotel eatery tonight. One of the best steaks I’ve had in a while.

Tomorrow’s weather report looks fairly miserable, so we’ll take plans as it comes.
