A long expected journey

So, if you’re reading this, you know me. And you know I’m not a morning person. So, it came as a great surprise, even to me, that I was up and 4:30am, and out the hotel by 5:30! Check in for the Eurotunnel starts 2 hours before your trip, so needs must!

Checking in, and through passport control – you do both UK and French before boarding – was pretty painless. In fact, the whole trip on the train and down to DIsney was pretty uneventful.

Our hotel this trip is Hotel New York – The Art of Marvel, and it is a total geek’s dream! I’ll post photos of some of the artwork over the course of the trip, but the one that totally blew us away was waiting for us when we got into the room.

It’s Chris’s birthday today, and obviously, it was on file from the booking. He had a birthday badge waiting at reception – yes, he wore it, and was wished Happy Birthday countless times – but when we got to our room, there was a limited edition print waiting, with a birthday card for him!

Dinner tonight was at the Downtown Restaurant, which is buffet style. Main courses were all ok, anywhere that includes corn on the cob as an option is fine by me, but the main attraction was the desserts! All Marvel themed and totally delicious. And yes, that’s why I booked it!

We wandered over to the parks for a couple of hours after dinner, managed a couple of rides and saw the fireworks. I’m looking forward to exploring in daylight tomorrow, rather than wandering about!

Staying on-site, we do have access to Extra Magic Hours, that is early entry to the parks, but tomorrow we’re having a lazy start, we can do those the rest of the week!
