Almost done
That’s been a fast week! Today was our last full day in the parks.
We started off at Annette’s for breakfast, well brunch – this is a 50s themed American diner in Disney Village, and is possibly the best breakfast we’ve had all trip.
The afternoon was spent wandering round the Disneyland Park, catching up on what we still wanted to do, and re-riding Star Tours! One of the highlights has to be The Lion King: Rhythm of the Pridelands. We both love the Festival of the Lion King in Florida, but this blows that out the water! Fantastic!
We also caught two of the parades – we’d seen the Dream and Shine Brighter parade from the front of the park previously, but this time we were able to see the castle show, too. We also saw the Disney Stars on Parade, which includes the amazing Maleficent float!
We had planned to head back to the Studios Park and try the drone show again, but based on the weather, we figured that it would likely be shown without drones again tonight, so instead, treated ourselves to dinner at the Steakhouse in Disney Village, followed by champagne and desserts at the Skyline Lounge in the hotel. The gimmick there? A wall of screens with a view as if you were in a rooftop bar in Manhattan, looking towards the Avengers Tower. Over the course of our time there, we saw the Quinnjet land and take off several times, Spiderman swing past, and Iron Man flew over to have a look as well!
Tomorrow, we check out, spend a final morning or so in the parks, then head to Calais, for an early morning crossing Saturday morning. Not as early as the one coming over on Monday, but still!
It’s been fun, and we’re already starting to think about the next trip!
