Homeward Bound

So, two days in one! Yesterday was a long day, as we stayed at the park until close to see Aquanura,, then had to head back and pack. How fast has this trip gone!? But by the time we did all that, it was late and I was too tired!

Thursday was a pretty full park day, that included two new rides, at least for me. The Gondolettas are the covered boats that circle the lake. They’ve recently upgraded the boats, and we finally figured out a way for Chris to get in and out of them on crutches. It’s a fun, and remarkably peaceful, twenty minutes or so. The other one was Piraña, the river rafts ride. Chris didn’t try that one, too slippy really, but I had a lot of fun on it!

The other good news? Danse Macabre was reopened, and I may have snuck in a couple of rides on that once it did!

Today, well, more Danse Macabre and a wander around the park, catching up on a last few eats and souvenirs. We finished up the day about lunchtime with Magicaluna which is a new free show in the Efteling Theatre that normally houses Caro.

We went in as unspoiled as possible, and it was worth doing so. It’s a fun show with some amazing effects!

The drive to Calais was mostly uneventful, but I can only assume the traffic around Antwerp was a lot worse than normal, as the satnav took us on a very different direction that normal, which included a 6.6km underwater tunnel.

Speaking of tunnels, early shuttle tomorrow, then home and off to Rocky Horror on Sunday.

Roll on November!
