Travel day two
Early start today, our Le Shuttle train left at 7:20, and we needed to check in at least an hour before. As usual, everything went smoothly, and we were in France by 9am local time.
It was interesting making the drive on a weekend day, rather than a weekday. Although the traffic was arguably a little heavier overall, the area around Antwerp which is normally nose to tail was much easier.
We arrived at Beekse Bergen about 1pm. Check in isn’t until 3pm, so we got out bearings where the rooms and the park are and then had some lunch and watched the animals on the savannah from the terrace.
The room is gorgeous – in theory, could sleep up to five, as there’s a second bedroom with bunk beds and a single, but the main room has a double bed looking straight to the patio and the savannah. We’ve had a great evening so far watching the variety of animals parading around. Including a couple of geese who I don’t think are actually part of the habitat!
We’re having a lazy evening tonight, we’ve ordered pizza and plan to spend time watching the giraffes go by. Tomorrow, we’ve got a full day in the safari park planned.
