Guess who’s back. Back again
So, after an uneventful drive to Folkestone on Sunday, and another uneventful one to DLP today, we arrived at Hotel New York around lunchtime.
This time round we knew what to expect, so had bags organised for what to leave and what to take into the parks while waiting on out room being ready.
What we didn’t realise when we booked – today is the 100the anniversary of the Walt Disney company. You may have seen the Disney 100 stuff being advertised and, like the park anniversaries, the celebrations last the full year and beyond. However today is THE day, with all the celebrations. We missed a lot, as it was early doors in the park, but the atmosphere was still buzzing. We had a late lunch, then wandered into Walt Disney Studios Park, where we took a trip on Remy’s Ratatouille Adventure, and had a run in with the Dora Milaje in Avengers Campus.
Once our room was ready – different floor and opposite side of the hotel from last time, but still the same layout – we got ourselves sorted, before going back to the park.
We had a few things on our wish list that we didn’t get to do last trip, one of which we checked off tonight. They have an Avengers drone show, but last time we were here, inclement weather meant that the drones were grounded. The music, projections and fireworks were still good, don’t get me wrong, but we wanted to see it with the drones. And it was oh, so worth it!
And, because it was the Disney 100 day, they followed it up with an extra projection and fireworks show, looking at the history of Disney animation, which I absolutely adored.
Tomorrow will be a lazy-ish day, since we have nothing booked. I say lazy, on half a day today, I hit over 13,000 steps, so we’ll be doing plenty!
Not many pics today, but we had fun!
