Early start, wet finish

Today started out early, and I mean EARLY! We had something booked that I’ve wanted to do for a while but things just never worked out! We had an early booking for a character breakfast, which meant we were in the Disneyland Park for 8am.

Getting to see the park almost empty, and with the sun not yet fully up, was worth the early start.

Breakfast was fun, the food was pretty good for a theme park breakfast, and the character meets were fun! We saw Captain Hook – who kissed my hand! – Pinocchio and Geppetto, Eeyore, Pluto and Goofy.

Once we left, I managed another first – Peter Pan’s Flight. The queue has always been stupid long in Florida, and even here on the last trip was longer than I wanted to wait. And as it’s a ceiling mounted track, Chris can’t ride it, as he wouldn’t be able to get evacuated in an emergency. I’m glad I’ve done it, but I’m not sure why it gets such long queues. Following that, we headed to Pirates of the Carribean, which is one we will repeat time and again.

Sadly, we discovered that the Lion King show is on hiatus – until the day after we leave! Typical!

We took a trip round the Rivers of America on the Molly Brown river boat. Lovely relaxing way to spend 10 minutes or so.

After some lunch and a convenient window seat in the Market Street Deli to watch the parade, we meandered back to the hotel for a couple of hours to avoid the worst of the rain.

Heading back out in the evening, we did Star Tours, It’s a Small World – twice! They let us re-ride it – and then Big Thunder Mountain in the dark!

Still drizzling, so we decided to call it a night.

Tomorrow is our last full day, so the plan is back to Studios Park, and shows.
