The one where I needed a jacket in Florida!
Animal Kingdom today. Our main goal was wanting to do the Kilimanjaro Safari ride, so we queued first thing – about 45 minutes predicted, which was pretty much spot on. No lions and tigers, but plenty of elephants, giraffes and zebras! Hopefully we’ll get another trip round on that before we leave, as it changes every time. We also took in one of the walking trails, where we saw a number of gorillas, along with hippos, fish and birds.
We then headed to Rafiki’s Planet Watch, where I wanted to take the Animation Experience class, and Chris had a rematch with a goat from our last trip. I drew Dumbo, and while Chris didn’t find his goat, he did get to see a shark getting an x ray!
By this time it was getting hot, so rather than be outside in the midday sun, we headed offsite to Cracker Barrel for lunch – it’s one of those places that’s been on my want to try list for a while. Good old fashioned home cooking, and some of the best mac and cheese I’ve ever tasted!
Back to the condo to recharge – both us and the chair battery! – then off to mooch round Disney Springs for the evening. We grabbed a late dinner/early supper from B.B. Wolf’s, who specialises in hot dogs. By the time we left, there was a definite chill in the air that we’re not used to in Florida, hence me needed a jacket!
Tomorrow, we have tickets for the Comicon in Lakeland so we’ll head there in the morning, and maybe hit a park in the evening.
